FRACTAL IMAGES
THE NOVO CATALOGUE‘Decalogue of Fractal Images’ is a performative video edited to showcase the basis of how Hidden Generative Languages are formed. Metaphoric juxtaposed poetry from questioning the nature of images. The natural phoneme is on fractals. A fractal is a never-ending pattern. They are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. Fractals are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop.
‘THE NOVO DECALOGUE’
Driven by recursion, fractals are images of dynamic systems. An image is a physical likeness or representation of a person, animal, or thing, photographed, painted, sculptured, or otherwise made visible. Generative languages are created from images constantly fragmented and circulated. The models who appeared in the Novo Decalogue were cast in order to look similar and represent both Adam and Eva.
‘SCULPTURAL VOLUMES’
The zine structure challenges how to transform a 2D format into a 3D one. The girds evolve into columns and pillars when trying to form volumetric shapes which they turn into 3D sculptures. Depending on how they are folded and unfolded, playing with the material itself and the environment, we obtain representative and abstract volumes when (de)forming them.
