FOOD AS A BEHAVIOUR OF LIFE

︎︎︎SER generates social awareness and reflection on the importance of the act of eating through sensory stimuli by understanding ‘food as a behavior of life’. The aim is to ‘recover the intimate contact with the food’ through the space, the product, the communication, and the gastronomy itself.

‘STAGE I: WE ARE WHAT WE EAT, BUT ALSO HOW WE EAT’

Much of how we interact with the world goes back to the ways in which we created experiences of delight pain, and tolerance through our perception. Feeling tells us emotionally about texture, smell, and taste it transcends our bodies and frames our ways of experiencing, creating, and understanding. Food is considered one of the most sensory activities in which we participate. We use all our sense when we eat; sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound.

‘STAGE II: FROM INDIVIDUAL SENSING TO COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCES’

At the fundamental level, we are equal, we are human. We need food to survive and air to breathe. Collective sensing is about how we build empathy and networks of inclusive support. Do you see what I see? Can you feel what I feel? As part of perceiving together, we built collective knowledge from shared experiences.

‘SCULPTURAL VOLUMES’

The zine structure challenges how to transform a 2D format into a 3D one. The girds evolve into columns and pillars when trying to form volumetric shapes which they turn into 3D sculptures. Depending on how they are folded and unfolded, playing with the material itself and the environment, we obtain representative and abstract volumes when (de)forming them.
